New York (June 24, 2013, 2:58 PM ET) -- Pfizer Inc. hit Alkem Laboratories Ltd. and Sandoz Inc. with lawsuits Friday aimed at blocking their recent bids to launch generic versions of Pfizer's Toviaz, a drug used to treat overactive bladders.
Pfizer accused both companies of patent infringement in Delaware federal court over their filing of abbreviated new drug applications with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Contrary to claims in the ANDAs filed by Alkem and Sandoz, Toviaz is protected by five valid patents that are enforceable
